The teachers are engaged actively in research work both as supervisors and as researchers. Most of the research projects in which the teachers are presently engaged are in the forms of MRPs (Minor Research Projects), approved and financed by the UGC. Besides, many of the teachers regularly present their research articles in seminars or conferences in the country and abroad. The central Research Laboratory of the college, known as P C Roy Central Research Laboratory, for Science research has been running successfully and research projects are being carried out there. This research laboratory has helped significantly in carrying a major research project by Dr Anindita Mitra, as Principal Investigator and Dr. Dr Santanu Mondal as Co-Principal Investigator.

Journals :

Two research journals are regularly published

i. Wesleyan Journal of Research, a UGC approved, multi-disciplinary peer-reviewed (ISSN: 0975-1386) journal, being published since 2008, has earned national as well as international repute and has been promoting research publications of varied disciplines.
Ii. Appropriations, a UGC approved, peer-reviewed ISSN (0975-1521) journal, published by the Department of English (since 2005), provides opportunities for researchers to publish their unique work.

The Mitchell Sky Observatory under the supervision of the department of Physics is being extensively used for observations and experimentations. The college in engaged in the act of popularizing science to the young students by means of the sky observatory.
The Automatic Weather Station of the department of Geography provides important weather-related information to the college as well as to the community at large and the data collected thus are used for researches of varied nature.
